After subscribing to a broadband connection, you may need a WiFi router.
The router allows laptops, smartphones and tablets with built-in WiFi to connect to the internet from any place in your home.
Choosing a good WiFi router will ensure maximum experience in surfing the Internet using a broadband connection you have. But you need to follow these tips before choosing Router.
Internet Connection Type
Depending on the Internet connection used, you will need one of the following two types of routers:
- If you use your home phone for internet access, you will need an ADSL router.
Fortunately, some internet providers may simultaneously provide this type of router when you decide to subscribe.
- For other connections, such as those provided by cable operators or wireless broadband service provider, you will need a non-ADSL router.

To select the best WiFi router, you should consider the following factors:
When you still want to get WiFi access from another room walls or glass, choose a router that has one or more highly recommended external antenna.
The existence of the antenna can increase the overall range of the router so you can access the internet from any corner of your home or office.
Most routers have internal antennas but these features are considered not able to match the power range of the router that has an external antenna.
Most routers work on the 2.4GHz frequency range.
Only, in addition to a router, other devices such as microwave ovens, cordless phones and Bluetooth devices also operate at the same frequency and thus potentially triggering connectivity disruption.
To avoid possible interference, you should consider choosing a dual-band router that allows connection to exceed 5GHz frequency band.
3. USB Port
Router with USB port lets you attach a flash drive, hard disk and even a printer, so you can share resources wirelessly over the network. Some router models also support USB dongle.
Be sure to check the specifications to see what is supported by the router. Not all routers with USB port support dongle also check if the dongle is compatible with the router.
As we know that different routers offer different security protocols such as WEP, WPA, and WPA2.
Of all types of security protocols, WPA2 is considered the best so most new routers offer.
If you have children, consider choosing a router that is equipped with the "parental control".
5. Speed Router
Each router has a different speed is 300 Mbps, 900 Mbps or 1900 Mbps.
This value is the speed that can be achieved under ideal conditions in the laboratory so that when you give a half-speed router from ideal conditions then it is considered good.
Moreover, the internet speed is determined by the speed of the router so that the Internet provider has little relationship to the speed of your internet.
Actual fact, the speed of the router has more to do in improving the performance of the internal network when you stream music and videos, share files, and so on.
6. 802.11n or 802.11ac
This is another generic term relating to a WiFi router connected to a wireless network standard that is agreed upon by the WiFi Alliance.
802.11ac is the latest standard but in most cases are still in the development stage.
80211n is the current standard used in wireless networks to 802.11ac version is fully ready to be released.
